Chicago’s favorite food and music festival turns the big 2-0 in 2018. Ribfest Chicago ignites summer with the best bands and hottest barbecue, and fans won’t believe the surprises in store for them this June.
The BBQ and culinary component has grown from five local restaurants to thirty rib and non-rib vendors. Meanwhile, with performances by top-tier Chicago talent and premier touring bands, Ribfest Chicago has become an internationally recognized all-original music festival.
New this year, the beloved Kids Square – full of free family activities and fun – opens on Friday night! Other highlights include the celebrity-judged “Best Ribs” rivalry and the Friday Feature Entertainment.

WHAT: As seen in 100 million households and 150 countries on the Food Network’s “Eating America with Anthony Anderson,” it’s no wonder that Ribfest Chicago is perennially crowned “Best Food Fest.” The Northcenter neighborhood event is home to Chicago’s best rib festival and remains one of the city’s top “summer must” attractions.
Ribfest Chicago is also a nationally-recognized FREE music festival. Top local and touring acts make up a delicious blend of indie, roots rock and alt country for one of the hottest all-original lineups in the Midwest.
Ribfest Chicago has contributed more than $300,000 to Northcenter schools and nonprofits to improve education, benefit critical nonprofit work, assist special needs and fight hunger, in addition to funding chamber projects and annual programming.
$10 Donation (per person/$20 per family) is requested to benefit Northcenter philanthropy and community programs.
